The YMCA is currently building an all new YMCA facility on the northeast side of Beaver Dam.  The new location will have increased capacity for all swimming, childcare and fitness programs as well as an all new outdoor field sports complex for soccer, baseball and flag football programs.  As a component of the new childcare center and the outdoor sports fields, two play spaces are being planned.  The play areas will serve multiple program functions.  A 2-5 year old playspace is planned adjacent to the childcare center and will directly serve the regular program needs for daycare participants.  A 5-12 year old play area is planned adjacent to the soccer field area.  This space will serve all public youth that are attending outdoor field sports events as participants or as families of participants.  In addition, the fields and play area will be available to the public as a park use space.  The play area will be an important asset for community members visiting the YMCA as a pleasant an safe location for recreation.   At present there are no park spaces or pay areas in this area of the community.
