Project Overview:
Parents and community members are banding together to transform the school grounds into a public park and recreation center.  The scope of the project includes removing the old rusted defunct playground equipment, adding new playground equipment, refurbishing a basketball court, adding a baseball diamond and soccer field, and transforming a swampy area into a reclaimed wetland -- complete with science investigation area, and nature walk.

Our Mission:
Our mission is to improve every aspect of the school and in doing so, bring our community together!

Playground Site:
The school sits on over 9.4 acres of flat grassland, formerly pasture. To the South is a cattle farm, and to the North, East, and West there is un-maintained forest.  The school and parking lot are located on the front third of the property, with playground stretching out behind. A swampy underground stream cuts the rear playground in half, and the students are not allowed to proceed beyond this “swamp” during recess. This means that a full 1/3 of the playground is unutilized and sitting idle. By converting the offending “swamp” into a “wetland”, and adding some walking bridges, students will gain access to the dry field beyond, which is easily converted into a combination soccer field/baseball diamond. Years ago there was a baseball diamond there, and the high chain-link fence behind the former home plate is still in good condition.
