Project Overview
As part of the curriculum for the Wyoming Black Hills Leadership Institute, associates must choose a community project ot organize, find funding for and see to fruition. The Weston County associates have chosen to focus their efforts on restructuring Roby Park in the Saddle Subdivision of Newcastle, WY.
To provide a safe recreation area for the children (and families) who live on the west end of the community that is also appealing and welcome addition in the neighborhood.
Proposed Site
Donny Ray Roby Park is named for a local 25 yr old who died in 1989. The park has some old equipment, a slab of foundation serving as a makeshift basketball court, and sagebrush. For years individuals have tried to get support to rebuild. Now, with the help of the associates of the Wyoming Black Hills Leadership Institute, we have a chance to support this mission to give our children a safe place to build special memories.
