Center for Inquiry Playground

I'm so pleased to share with you that the Center for Inquiry at School 27 has been selected to receive a KaBOOM! Community Playground Build through the generous support of Indiana University Health! On Friday, May 20, over 150 volunteers from IU Health and 50+ volunteers from our school and community will come together to build a brand new playground at School 27. Please mark your calendars for May 20! The fun work begins on this coming Tuesday, March 15 when School 27 and future CFI students and their parents are invited to participate in our Playground Design Day. Although summer certainly seems far away on this snowy afternoon in January, the opening of our new Center for Inquiry at School 27 in August will actually be here before we know it! We are so excited to bring the CFI magnet program to the near north side of Indy and look forward to creating a strong learning community with our new student body, families, neighbors, teaching team, and community partners. In addition to providing a rigorous inquiry-based academic program, we are committed to making time and space for rigorous play at CFI, too! Unfortunately, School 27’s backyard currently lacks the playground equipment that we know is important for our children’s development. As we plan to transform the school, we’ve started to put together some ideas for how we can transform the current backyard into a fun, safe playground and outdoor learning space, too. Now, we invite you to join us on this journey as we hope to transform our ideas into a reality for our new students! Here are some easy ways that you can get involved: 1. Join our KaBOOM! project. 2.
