Welcome
Welcome to McKinley Elementary's "Operation Playground"!
 
Our playground Build Day is Saturday, July 19th!

McKinley Elementary School celebrated its 100th year in San Francisco this year. This summer, we're celebrating the demolition of our 33-year-old play structure! The second oldest in the San Francisco Unified School District, it's rusty, splintering, cracking, and structurally unsound for our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. It's time for it to go! Check out the "before" photos to get a sense of what we're talking about.

Thanks to KaBOOM! and the generosity of Washington Mutual, we will be replacing our playground in a Community Build Day on July 19th. We will build our play structure in ONE DAY! We will need volunteers to help with logistics, construction, food, children's activities, and safety. To volunteer, please email playground@mckinleyschool.org.
