On October 16th, 2008, in partnership with KaBOOM! and SAP, Inc., M.Agnes Jones Elementary will build it's first ever Playspace. This space will consist of a play area that will include the following: A climbing wall, a zip line, overhead climbing bars, a twisting slide, swings, interactive games, and a ball toss. We will also include mini side projects. These projects consist of, sidewalk games, a painted US map, a shaded area, picnic tables and benches, planters, gardens, stepping stones dedicated to the volunteers and an outdoor science area. Future plans wiill include interactive works of art.

Our Mission: 

The mission of M. Agnes Jones Elementary School is to provide students with opportunities, encouragement, incentive, and support to attain higher levels of achievement and to develop positive attitudes toward the learning process. Further, we provide meaningful curriculum, based on standards and specific objectives, which meet the needs of students, enabling them to reach their maximum potential. This mission is evident by yearly decreasing the CRCT achievement gap with the state in all content areas and on all grade levels. 

Our responsibilty, in conjunction with parents and other community partrons is to ensure that all students acquire the skills necessary to gain meaningful employment and become productive, responsible citizens in a highly technical society.
 

Proposed Site

The playspace will be located in the rear of the school on a 60 X 60 grassy area on the southern portion of the campus. This area is surrounded by a beautiful walking trail and is convienient to all local residents with ample parking nearby.
