Welcome to the LETA PLAYGROUND PROJECT
Build Date: 06/27/07
WeLcOmE tO oUr HoMePaGe!!! We are so delighted that you decided to visit!
MISSION COMPLETED!!!
Lincoln
Elementary Technology Academy feels privileged to work with such fine
volunteers who took time out of their busy schedules to participate in
our Build Day on a Wednesday. We are so appreciative of partner
KaBOOM!, our funding partner Build-a-Bear Workshop and everyone who
made the LETA Playground Project possible. The students at LETA were
thrilled to make their own bears thanks to Build-a-Bear Workshop! They
were fascinated by the creation of the playground, taking a glance as
they made their bears and helped with side-projects and children
activities. The impact on the children will be phenomenal. LETA
students finally get to play on their very own custom playground during
recess. Everyone did such an awesome job and we had a terrific turn
out. Thank you for making our dream of building a safe place for our
children to play come true. The heart ceremony was touching and we will
always remember all the hearts and hard work that went into our Build
Day at Lincoln. You've not only touched Lincoln but you've touched our
surrounding community.
So, what did the children think of
the new playground? I got a lot of its "cool, awesome, good, great and
nice." Second grader Keyon thought the playground was fantastic! One
second grade student said, "I like climbing the wall, it was soooo much
fun." Another students exclaimed, "I love going down the twirly slide
and going woooooooo!" A first grader at LETA said, "My favorite part of
the playground is the monkey bars because I like hanging upside down."
There you have it from the critics, they absolutely loved their new
playground and could not be happier that you made it happen.
On
Friday, June 29, LETA children patiently waited to run out onto their
playground for the first time. It was such an incredible sight to see
their smiling faces laughing and watching them have such a marvelous
time. My heart filled with such happiness and I could not stop smiling
and thinking about each of you who helped create this "pawsome"
playspace for our students. We are all so appreciative that you helped
make our dreams of building a playground for our children into a
reality.

Our goal was to build a multifaceted playground for recreational and academic purposes at LETA. Now the children are playing on a custome pawsome playspace from Build-A-Bear Workshop . We will promote an active lifestyle, create an alternative area for recreational activities, utilize the area for physical education classes, and expand young minds through active play. By collaboratively working together as a team, we made our dream of building a playground into a reality with your help and support.
Mission Statement
Lincoln Elementary Technology Academy and the surrounding community are working together to construct their first playground. This will give our children, their families and the community the opportunity to work together and be apart of a positive experience. Our mission is to raise enough money to create a space that stimulates the imagination and promotes an active lifestyle. Please help make our dream a reality!
Currently, students at LETA have drawn amazing pictures of what their fantasy playground would include. They will have the opportunity to participate in the fundraising efforts and are able to submit their own ideas. The students are also becoming involved by writing thank you letters to participating companies and organizations.
Thank you and please browse through our web site because we will have continuous updates on our project for you to explore. We also want to give youthe history of our school and the area in which we live. The albums that include photographs of our current playground and the students' playground drawings will continue to grow visit again for more information concerning our academic and recreational play space.
