IG LEVY MEMORIAL PARK NORTH
The Site: IG Levy Park North sits on nearly 60 acres of land and includes a Nature Center, picnic pavilion, two fishing ponds, a soccer field and a walking trail. The playground at IG Levy Memorial Park has served the children of Pascagoula and surrounding communities for over 25 years, but unfortunately no longer meets the NPSI standards for safety and accessibility. A new playground for the children of Pascagoula would greatly boost the spirit of our community and provide a safe place for kids to play.
Impact of the Hurricanes: Over 650 of the 9,500 homes in Pascagoula were destroyed by the 135 MPH winds and 17 foot storm surge as a result of Hurricane Katrina. The 23 park and recreational facilities in Pascagoula suffered major wind and flood damage.
