Welcome to the Dare to Dream project for Windham Ridge

We’re so glad you dropped by!  This website is representative of the parents and the project –it’s dynamic.  So come back often to check on our progress, and learn how you can volunteer and make our dream a reality.

How it began….

A new school, an empty grass field, children in need of a constructive physical outlet AND parents with a belief in the power of dreams.  Combine these factors with initiative, perseverance and great commitment –our project was born.

Our vision….

A playground designed to engage children from grades 1 through 8, and with space to accommodate 35 to 50 at one time.  The structure will include monkey bars, multiple slides, climbers as well as a shady place to rest.  Benches will surround the area to allow parents to gather and watch their children run, giggle and play.

Fundraising plan….

We are pursuing funds from a variety of sources including the Town, School Board, corporations and individuals.  In addition we have one remaining fundraising event - our second Gala evening.  Similar to the first Gala, this is an opportunity for parents to come together and indulge in fine dining and dancing while contributing to the playground.  Event date - Saturday February 7, 2009.

In addition we will happily accept direct donations, with a tax receipt being issued for those above $25!

The people behind the scenes….

We are all parents of children at Windham Ridge Public School.  Our backgrounds are varied; our vision is unified and strong.  New faces and ideas are always welcome –come out and join our community effort!
