Can You Help?
How Can I Help?
Do you know someone that has connections with a grocery store or restaurant? Ask them to donate food for breakfast, lunch water and snacks for the build day. forget to ask them about water as well.
Do you have a relationship with a nursery? Ask them if they would donate or sell us at cost plants, fertilizer and soil.
Do you work in the construction industry? Come to the meeting on xxx to help see how we can gather all the equipment and supplies we need to put the playground up.
Are you a doctor? Join the Community Day Doctors for Play committee. Help convince the insurance companies to donate to the playground as well as serve on the safety committee so that we keep everyone safe the day of the build.
Do have a relationship with a hardware store or outdoor furniture store? If yes, ask them to donate a shed to keep all of the play equipment needed for a great recess (balls, jump ropes, etc.)
Do you like the other parents in your childs grade? Become the class representative for your grade. Your job will be to ensure that all the parents are coming to the build.
Do you belong to a service group or other association or are involved with a group from your synagogue? Ask them to join us on the build day. It is a wonderful team experience. (Maybe they would also make a small donation)
Do you plan to visit a lot of playgrounds and other play spaces this summer? Then take your camera with you. When you come home go to
www.kaboom.org
and complete an on-line form about the playground. Tell others whether it is a good or bad place to play.
Are you a details person? Then we need you on the logistics committee, taking care of everything from name tags to table set ups.
Do you have artistic ability? Work with the administration to come up with an idea for an outdoor art display that the children can create during the build.
Do you love working with little kids? Then join the childrens activities committee to ensure we keep all the children of different ages busy during the build.
Do you have additional money that you are planning to donate to a good cause this year? Then make an additional gift to the school earmarking it for the playground. We need gifts of all sizes. If you donate $1,000 or more we will be able to add one more component to the playground.
Do you know a family that would be interested in making a large donation and have naming rights to the playground? Call Margie Dubner today.
