Project Overview
What is a community-built playground?
"Community-built" means that a group of local citizens takes the lead in initiating and planning a project to benefit the whole community. It means that local volunteers help to prepare the site and install the playspace, and it means that community residents - especially children - are active in the design process.

What is the PlaySpace Planning Committee?
The PlaySpace Planning Committee is a group of concerned citizens who lead the planning and execution of a community-build project. This committee might include government officials, business owners, non- profit employees, religious leaders, parks professionals, school principals, teachers, parents and students …but whatever the committee members' backgrounds, they all volunteer their time and talents to the playspace project. They should also be committed to representing local interests.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide a place for kids of all ages to play that will be accessible to the community.

Proposed Site

We are currently working with Bedford Borough to pursue the possibility of a playground at the Bedford Borough Green. We would like our playground to be accessible to pedestrians and to be in an area that people are familiar with. Our committee is also investigating other potential sites at this time.
