Welcome to the Children's House Montessori Playground Project

Welcome to our home page!  We're so glad you dropped by. Come back often to check on our progress, and learn how you can volunteer to help us make  the kids ' dream a reality.
 
The playground plan includes the installation of a larger play structure for children ages five to twelve years of age. A second play structure will also be installed which will be age appropriate for children in our childcare program, ages two to five. Additional equipment will include a swing set, with swings for older and younger children, as well as other playground components that encourage balance and movement such as balance beams, spring riders and a button trail.

Another aspect of our project includes the construction of a circular sidewalk which will will allow families and staff to walk safely between the buildings when coming to and from school, especially in the winter months.  Our current pathways are on wood chips, which cannot be shoveled or sanded during the winter, resulting in a slick surface.  In the center of the loop we will have a large sand area with sand diggers and an area set up with picnic tables under the trees for eating and class lessons. 

 
By building a new playground not only are we able to offer our children a safe, enjoyable place to play, but it also infuses into our children the core values of how communities work together to create something wonderful.  Our playground project will bring together many facets of our community by utilizing the talents of all involved; from fundraising, to community members that help with potential donations, to each person that aids in the construction, painting, etc, of this new playground.
