Welcome to the Central School Playground Rejuvenation Project Founded 93 years ago, Central is the oldest school in Simsbury. It also has some of the most antiquated playground equipment. Central School Playground is more than just a school playground - it’s a community destination! It’s where our students, our neighborhood children, Simsbury Rec summer campers and Little League families all come to have fun. Our initial budget was $65,00 but once final costs came in, the school needed to raise $75,000 to replace structures that are cracked, rusting, splintered and some estimated to be between 25 - 50 years old. The old pea stone ground cover needs to be excavated and replaced with safer material. The playground committee has selected Landscape Structures ( http://www.playlsi.com) as the playground equipment vendor. This company will design the new playground, purchase the equipment and assist the community with the installation. Additionally, several stand alone components, selected by the students, will be purchased from Big Toys. Our build dates are Friday August 24th and Saturday August 25th. PLEASE HELP US BUILD OUR PLAYGROUND !!
