Project Overview
Alamo Area MHA strives to always be at the forefront of providing quality affordable housing. By providing the youth with nice playground equipment just reiterates to them that they are not defined by their financial status and with the positive self image and self worth that they will have has a positive effect on the community as a whole. To have this effect we are partnering with KaBoom! and Washington Mutual in order to provide updated and new playground equipment. We will have several landscaping and several side projects to beautify and enhance the common areas.
Our Mission:
Alamo Area Mutual Housing Association’s (Alamo Area MHA), mission is to develop, acquire, own, and manage leased affordable housing in a community environment that promotes resident education, self-sufficiency, leadership, and volunteerism through successful partnerships.
Proposed Site
Castleridge Apartments is located on the west side of San Antonio Texas, conveniently located to 2 major highways and military bases. The playground is in a central area of the apartment complex with a courtyard and central meeting spot appeal, residents visit with eachother in the area while their children play, or they do laundry, and check in at the Leasing Office or the Learning Center. This resident interaction establishes a strong sense of community and pride amongst our residents. The area is well groomed with nice landscaping of bushes and trees for shading and a veranda area.
