We would like to build a brand new playground on an empty lot for toddlers and preschool aged children. The space will have a shaded area, space for ride-on toys, and safety rubber/foam surface. It will include a swing set, slides, crawl spaces, sandbox, and spring toys. The playspace will serve a non-profit daycare center in the Auburn Gresham community in Chicago.

 Alpha Learning Center promotes children’s cognitive, social, emotional, physical, linguistic, and cultural development through a safe, secure and diverse learning environment that promotes learning through a global and multicultural perspective. At ALC, we   foster and encourage learning through play and imagination. ALC provides developmentally appropriate learning experiences that are integrated across the curriculum.  ALC understands that each child learns differently thus we strive to create challenging, meaningful and engaging learning experiences to meet each child’s individual needs.  ALC believes the key to early learning is a collaborative effort between families, communities, and care givers working together.

Proposed Site

The proposed site of Alpha Playspace is a 38ft by 75ft empty lot located behind Alpha Learning Center at 8422 S. Damen Ave., Chicago IL.  The lot is currently not being used.
