Benjamin Franklin Elementary Mathematics and Science School
Description:  The current school building was built around 1913 and has had been playground equipment onsite. Beyond a lack of play equipment at the school there is little to no option for play within the neighborhood. The closest playground sites are either inaccessible to students or have been turned into FEMA trailer parks post-Katrina. A new playground at Benjamin Franklin will be a dramatic addition to the school and the neighborhood.
