Kenmore Elementary Playground

The existing playground at Kenmore Elementary fails to meet the needs of the students and surrounding community. Risk Management has found that the playground fails to meet current safety standards in many areas. Most of the current playground equipment was installed well before the current safety standards were released in 1991. Kenmore Elementary is the oldest elementary school in the district. The Orchard Knob Community in South Atlanta will receive a playground within walking distance. Over the next year will plan to raise funds and build a playground that includes a modular playground that includes a climbing wall and slides, a dome climber, a horizontal ladder/monkey bar, a commercial see-saw, set of swings, a tire-obstacle course and two basketball goals.
